single snapshot: kitty in the mosque




Kitty is perched on an inner wall partition that separates the entry from the prayer area in the center of the al-Jazzar mosque in Akk√°.

  1. If that tip cut off its ear means the same thing in the middle east as it does in the US, that is a neutered and vaccinated catch and released feral cat. It's a program that allows ferals to live free, but keeps colony size down and contributes to rodent control. Beautiful photo and beautiful cat!

    and speaking of beautiful . . . the blue inscribed tile and the graceful arches . . . oh my.

    1. Tammy, arches and curves get me every time!! So does blue and white, lol! There is a lot of both here in Israel to feast my eyes upon!! And the cats... there are lots of them and they live on the streets. They seem to do okay and many residents set out food and water...but still...as a cat-lover it's hard.
